Spring Breakers Guide To Booking A Cancun All-Inclusive For Spring Break

Share

Planning a spring break vacation is exciting, but there are certain things to consider when booking a stay at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun. Many hotels and resorts have very specific policies regarding the booking of rooms during the spring break season. This guide to booking a Cancun all-inclusive for spring break will help in understanding exactly what is required of the individual booking the room and those staying on the property.

Age Requirements
Hotel policies regarding age requirements for checking in and staying in the room vary from one all-inclusive property to the next. Some resorts, like the Royal Solaris Cancun, allow check-in at 18 or older, but they only allow individual spring breakers, not groups. Others, like Temptation Cancun Resort, require guests to be over 21. And then there are hotels like some of the RIU resorts that don’t allow spring break groups at all and require someone over 21 in every room, so it’s important to pay attention to these policies before booking.

Incidental Holds
Incidental holds are a set sum of money that a hotel holds on a credit card or charges to a debit card in addition to your reservation amount. The money will be applied to any charges to your room, or it can be used to cover damages, for smoking in your room, for example. As long as you don’t charge anything to your room and leave it as you found it, the money will be refunded upon check out.

Room Occupancy
Every room at any Cancun all-inclusive resort has a limit to the number of people allowed in the room. Exceeding the occupancy can result in extra charges, or if the number exceeds safety limits, even being expelled from the property. These limits are in place for both the safety of guests and for the purpose of maintaining an enjoyable environment for everyone.

General Rules And Responsibilities
It’s important to pay attention to any rules and responsibilities you might have as a guest at the hotel you’re booking because you don’t want to have any surprises upon arrival. A few things to check in order to be prepared include:

  • Amount of incidental deposit.
  • Forms of payment accepted for deposit.
  • Age requirement for all guests.
  • Minimum stay requirements.
  • Check-in and check-out times.
  • What taxes and fees are included in the price.

What’s Included
The biggest question people have when booking an all-inclusive is what is actually included, and you’ll probably be quite surprised. While each resort brand varies, Cancun’s all-inclusive resorts are known for their great amenities. Many of these resorts offer gourmet dining, 24-hour room service, top-shelf drinks, and daily stocked mini-fridges, but there are some that charge extra for upgraded dining and beverage packages.

Getting To The Resort
Just as important as booking your hotel for your spring break vacation is booking your transportation to get to the hotel. Booking prior to arrival is your best option so that you know you’re booking with a legitimate company, you know what you’re paying, and you know they’ll be there to pick you up when you arrive at Cancun International Airport. You’ll also get a better price if you book in advance, and transportation from the airport to the Hotel Zone can be pretty pricey, as much as $60 one way in a taxi.

Spring break is a time to let loose and take a break from all the hard work you’re doing, but if not planned right, a vacation can turn into a headache very fast. By doing all the work before your spring break trip to make everything go smoothly, you’ll get the relaxation and good time during the trip that you need and deserve.
