Cancun, the popular vacation destination in the Mexican Caribbean, has been steadily rising in popularity over the last few years. The city’s popularity has particularly grown among travelers from the United States and Canada, which has led to the addition of new routes between these countries and Cancun International Airport. The most recent new route for Canadian tourists is a Canada Jetlines route between Toronto and Cancun which will operate three times a week.
Canada Jetlines Route
The announcement of the new Canada Jetlines route was made last month, but the first flight didn’t take place until Friday, March 3rd. Three weekly flights will be available, with the airline flying the route on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through May. Starting in June, there will be two weekly flights available, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until October, when the three weekly flight schedule starts back up before the busy winter season.
Canada Jetlines
Canada Jetlines is a low-cost carrier that was founded in 2013 but didn’t launch its first flight until September 2022 between Toronto and Calgary. In December 2022, the airline began its route between Toronto and Vancouver, and then just a couple of weeks ago, on February 16th, it launched its Toronto to Las Vegas route. The Toronto to Cancun route that is now operating is the fourth being offered by the company, with a fifth between Toronto and Melbourne, FL to follow this April.
