Cancun it’s getting more than just the Mayan Train

The Japanese company Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) presented this January 29 the project “Development of the Public Transport System in Cancun City”, with it seeks to guarantee an efficient and secure public transport for the region.

In the representation of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), it was indicated that the High Quality Public Transport System (JETRO) is planning to build an electric monorail passenger train for the urban area of Cancun.

According to the AGT system, this has more advantages compared to the Metro, since the route does not interfere with the buildings or the urban landscape, which minimizes the acquisition of land; its operation is fully automatic.
