Share

2018 will close with better expectations of growth and inflation, however, for next year the forecasts are not so encouraging. Private analysts consulted by the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) pointed out that factors such as political uncertainty, insecurity and corruption would affect growth.

Analysts improved their growth and inflation expectations for the end of 2018 to 2.13 and 4.58%, respectively.
However, for 2019, they revised their economic growth expectations to 1.97% from 2.15%, thus linking two months with decreases.

According to the central bank survey, the expectations of the national unemployment rate for the end of 2018 increased from 3.38% in October to 3.41% in November, and for 2019, they increased from 3.47 to 3.57%
