Search and Rescue teams continue to scour the thick jungles between Cancun and Francisco May after two men were reported missing during a bike tour.

Rosendo Ibáñez, 33 and José Vicente Pérez, 45 went astray between Cancun and Francisco May Sunday while touring the jungle area on bicycles. The extreme cyclists apparently headed out on a dirt road that lead into the jungle area outside of Cancun to make their way toward the town of Francisco May.

Friends and family reported the pair missing when they failed to return. Search parties have been looking for the two men, but without luck.

According to data provided by one of the rescue managers, dangerous animals and thickly forested jungle are concerns for those searching for the men. Elements of the Fire Department and Civil Protection began a 35-man search brigade who have made tours on motorcycles, bicycles and vehicles along on the routes used by cyclists.

They were last heard from around 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
