Donald Trump discusses with Congress the allocation of resources for next year
The U.S. Department of Defense assured today that at the moment it is not contemplating helping to build a border wall with Mexico, even though President Donald Trump has been insisting that, if Congress does not finance the project, it will be the Army who will build it “As of today, there are no plans to build parts of the wall,” one of the Pentagon spokesmen, Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Davies, said in a statement.
This clarification of the Defense portfolio comes at a time when the White House and the Congress have entered into a tug of war that, due to the Law of State Budgets, could lead to a closure of the Administration the next 21 from December.
In his statement, Lieutenant Colonel Davis clarified that the current legislation allows the Pentagon to finance “frontier barrier projects,” provided it is in support of anti-narcotics missions or in the case of a national emergency.
