A motorcyclist died Sunday morning after losing control of his bike and skidding while on Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
The events occurred at the height of Kilometer 1 around 7:00 a.m. when the driver of an Italika motorcycle skidded for several meters and ended up hitting a palm tree. The impact caused his death.
Medical personnel arrived to tend to the victim, however, he was pronounced at the scene. A team from the Forensic Medical Service arrived to remove the body.
Traffic had been reduced to one lane as the city prepared for the Triathlon of Cancun, which was held Sunday in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
