A tourist from the Cancun Hotel Zone has died from drowning after being rushed to hospital.
The elderly man, who has not been identified, was on vacation in Cancun from Mexico City. Lifeguards reported seeing the man having problems in the water. They managed to pull him from the sea and onto shore unconscious.
An ambulance arrived at Kilometer 8.5 of the Hotel Zone and rushed him to hospital, however, he died shortly after arriving.
