MEXICO CITY – The Mexican peso closed with gains on Thursday against the dollar amid expectations about a lower number of interest rate hikes that would apply to the US central bank.
In banks, the green ticket was sold at 20.65 pesos, that is, 20 cents more expensive compared to the last price on Wednesday, and the purchase closed at 19.80 pesos, according to the quote of Citibanamex.
In bulk, the dollar was sold at 20.3600 pesos, which means a gain of 0.77% for the national currency compared to the previous official closing, indicate data from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).
