As part of its international expansion strategy, Interjet began its air operations to and from Cancun and Mexico City to Guayaquil, Ecuador.
In a statement, it was reported that the airline has started with a daily frequency using an Airbus A320. Interjet added that beginning October 29, they will also start offering daily flights to and from Quito-Mexico City.
The company said that with the new routes to Ecuador, a total of 4,200 seats per week will be offered.
The inaugural flight was attended by Julio Gamero, Commercial Executive Director of Interjet, who explained that Ecuador is a strategic destination, an outstanding epicenter for business travelers and ecological tourism in the region, hence the interest in strengthening the connectivity
“Arriving from Ecuador is very important, with which we give continuity to a decided expansion plan in the South American region, while adding presence in the international market. Guayaquil for us is a strategic destination, derived from its cultural and historical wealth which is attractive to travelers,” said Gamero.
