This Wednesday, the industrial city of Port Talbot (Wales, United Kingdom) woke up with a newly painted graffiti on a garage. It is not, however, any graffiti, since its authorship has been attributed to the popular street artist Banksy, who later posted a video about the work on his official Instagram account.
The graffiti represents a child who plays trying to catch with his mouth what look like snowflakes, but which are actually ashes coming from a burning container (or perhaps a chimney) painted on the back wall of the garage.
The owner of the garage, Ian Lewis, said he saw the artwork for the first time when the images began to spread on Facebook this Tuesday night, and that since then he has been protecting the graffiti.
Port Talbot, the city where the work appeared, was covered in black dust from the local mills in July, so the graffiti could be a criticism of the contamination and industrialization of the area.
